Scholarship Money Available For Athletes With Financial Need To Participate In The Games
The Wisconsin Sports Development Corporation (WSDC) is excited to announce that, thanks to an anonymous donation, scholarship dollars are available for youth and adult athletes with a financial need to participate in the American Family Insurance Badger State Games.
"We're extremely excited to be able to provide monetary support to those that may not otherwise be able to participate in the Games," said Ron Vincent, Chief Executive Officer of the Wisconsin Sports Development Corporation. "Having a place to play for everyone, regardless of economic background or ability to pay, is one of the key pillars of the Games. We are just ecstatic that we will now be able to provide this kind of increased support."
The scholarship money can be used by individuals or teams, for both the winter and summer games.
"We will be actively looking for local community support organizations throughout the state to help us get the word out and help identify those that may benefit most from this program," noted Tim Allen, Director of Marketing and Public Relations for WSDC. "Having this kind of donation will really help us get more people involved in the Games and physically active. What a great way to start a new year!"
