Ironman Wisconsin Still In Need Of Volunteers
The Ford Ironman Wisconsin, one of only 6 Ironman triathlons in North America, will be held in and around Madison on Sunday, September 10, 2006. The success of the race relies heavily on the support of the local volunteers.
"We need about 3,000 [volunteers] to make things operate efficiently and smoothly," said John Eisele of the Wisconsin Sports Development Corporation, "we've had a tremendous amount of interest and support from the community but we could still use about 700 more people."
Volunteers are most needed for the later shifts on Sunday as well as on the run course.
To register online, please go to www.SportsInWisconsin.com and click on the volunteer tab at the top of the home page. Shifts are typically 2-4 hours in length and you will receive a Ford Ironman Wisconsin volunteer t-shirt and admittance into the volunteer appreciation banquet held on Monday, September 11, 2006. For more information please contact John Eisele at 608.226.4780 ext. 232 or jeisele@sportsinwisconsin.com.
