  1. Shopping. Wisconsin’s Shopping Place has the largest concentration of retail in the state surrounding the Fox River Mall. The mall attracts more than 16 million visitors a year who enjoy its excellent retail atmosphere, clean, comfortable and safe environment. Men enjoy the mounts and mini-gun museum at Scheel’s the largest “all-sports” store in Wisconsin.

  1. Antiques. The Harp Gallery is consistently named one of the top antique dealers in the state. Nationally known retailer, Urban Evolutions, specializing in architectural salvage and repurposed items, has an outlet store in Menasha.
 
  1. The Building for Kids, arguably one of the Midwest’s finest children’s museums, offers a two-story tree house, water play area, kid-sized Kwik Trip store and an awesome DaVinci Studio.
 
  1. Lake Winnebago. The state’s largest lake offers breathtaking scenery and great opportunities for water sports, from sailing in the summer to ice boating and sturgeon spearing in the winter.
 
  1. Bergstrom-Mahler Museum. Located near the shores of Lake Winnebago in Neenah, this museum is all about glass.  It offers the world’s largest and most representative glass paperweight collection as well as an exquisite Germanic Glass display.  Bergstrom-Mahler Museum also hosts a variety of guest exhibitions including contemporary glass, painting, photography, sculpture, textiles and more.  Best of all, admission is free!
 
  1. Fox Cities Performing Arts Center. This state-of-the-art center is home to traveling Broadway productions, regional acts and many local performing groups, including the Fox Valley Symphony.
 
  1. Hearthstone Historic House Museum. The world’s first home lighted by a central hydroelectric station, still utilizes the house’s original Thomas Edison light fixtures and period “electroliers”. The lower level features a hands-on hydroelectric center and intricate interior woodwork hand carved from Wisconsin woods, nine charming fireplaces and exquisite stained glass windows add to the elegance of this splendid Victorian mansion located on the banks of the majestic Fox River. 
 

  1. The History Museum at the Castle. The museum’s A.K.A. Houdini exhibit explores the life of Appleton resident Harry Houdini and even allows you to try your hand at several of his well-known illusions.
 
  1. Barlow Planetarium & Weis Earth Science Museum. One of only 29 in the world with similar capabilities, the world-class Barlow boasts state-of-the-art technology and equipment.  The planetarium features awesome and exciting shows about stars, galaxies and planets in a three-dimensional setting.  The Weis is the official state museum of geology and features interactive learning tools and self-guided tours offering information about fossils, geology, paleontology and agriculture.
