Badger State Winter Games, the Nation's largest winter sports festival is excited to announce the addition of Billards to the 2006 Winter Games.

"We are often approached regarding adding sports to the Badger State Games," said Ryan Richards, Director of Operations for the Wisconsin Sports Development Corporation. "John Lewis from American Cue Sports Alliance approached us regarding adding billiards to our winter lineup of sports. John had successfully run tournaments as part of the Rocky Mountain State Games and the State Games of America so the addition to the Badger State Games was easy. Billiards is a great life sport that uses tremendous hand eye coordination as well as elements of geometry when making shots."

The Billiards tournament is scheduled for February 3-5, 2006, the second and larger of the two weekends of the Games, along with Alpine Skiing, Curling, Figure Skating, Freestyle Skiing, Men's Hockey, Nordic Skiing, Quadrathlon, Ski Jumping, Snowboarding, Snowshoe Racing and Speedskating. Archery, Bowling, Youth and Women's hockey will take place January 27-29, 2006. All sports occur in and around north central Wisconsin.
